Farmville Community Marketplace
Find the freshest local ingredients from the end of April through the end of October at the Marketplace! In-season produce, fresh eggs, bakery goods and delicious treats, handcrafted soaps and skincare, gift items, art, jewelry, crafts, potted plants and so much more can be found at this friendly community market. The vendor list continues to grow, offering more products to shoppers all the time.
Firefly Festival
Experience the dazzling light show created by a galaxy of fireflies in the treetops below High Bridge! Hear from the ranger how these mysterious glowing insects light up the world around us every summer. Activities and insect displays will help curious participants learn all about the amazing firefly. There is nothing like seeing this glittering display from above atop High Bridge – this is a tradition you will want to repeat for years to come.
Farmville Wine Festival
The Farmville Wine Festival is an excellent opportunity to connect and give back to our community. Proceeds from the festival go to the Prince Edward County Meals on Wheels in their efforts to provide nutritious meals to seniors in our area. Enjoy live music, taste a variety of Virginia wines, shop from a large collection of vendors, sample food from a wide selection of flavors, enter the raffle, and participate in the silent auction – this festival is packed full of entertainment!
Heart of Virginia
A favorite of Farmville residents, the Heart of Virginia Festival celebrates some of the area’s best music, fine arts, and food! The Farmville community comes out to enjoy concerts, shop, taste some yummy treats, and enjoy music together. Activities for kids and information about community services make this a truly all-inclusive party in Farmville. The event ends with a Block Party you won’t want to miss!
Five-County Fair
Enjoy five days of community fun at the traditional county fair shared by Appomattox, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, and Prince Edward counties. The beloved fair has been a meeting place for the Farmville community for years and has become a cherished tradition providing memories that last a lifetime. Rides, games, shows, and more combine with pageants, livestock shows, delicious food, and other attractions to create a truly inclusive fair that connects our community to its heritage.
High Bridge Half Marathon & 5K
The historic High Bride is located in the heart of Virginia in Prince Edward and Cumberland Counties and stands 31 miles high. This is the setting for the breathtakingly beautiful High Bridge Marathon. The race course crosses the historic bridge twice, allowing runners to savor the half-mile that towers 125 feet above the Appomattox River. Awards are presented to finishers who complete the race within the designated time, but the real reward is the view.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Spread some holiday cheer and bring the whole family to the annual Christmas tree lighting in Farmville! Live Christmas music, food, children’s activities, and, of course, a special visit from Santa Claus help to make the season bright and bring a little magic into your holidays. You will want to make this sparkling event a yearly tradition for your family.
Farmville Christmas Parade
The Farmville Christmas Parade is always a crowd favorite! The Farmville Jaycees hosts an impressive collection of bands and floats to cheer your spirit. Not only is the parade a festive, fun way to start the holiday season, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to join together with our community in a spirit of goodwill. See floats and bands from local schools and youth organizations and root for your favorite!
